Construction,Creation and Installation...

Above,on the left, show small photos of a few of final pieces (bowl and a plate)-Ive decided to create basically a chinaware dinner service set out of material (organza to be precise!) as it reflects the passing down of objects along the female line which was the starting point to my project and the type of inheritance i looked at,also these type of items normally come in multiples and passed down as heirlooms between the women within families...
On the right,the dresser image at the top is the dresser i have brought to use for installing my final pices....ive decided to distress it with white-ish paint and add lighting...i want the dresser to portray my items and the idea behind my project and like many houses; people display their passed down, old chinaware in some kind of dresser, so that is what i would like to recreate!
...cant wait to see what it looks like when its all done and in place in the exhibition... :)
Experimentation with Lutradur...
130 gram weight... spray dyed with vintage colours...stitched onto a wire bowl like frame and zapped with a heat gun to create an old,delicate item...

Experimentation with organza...
Moleskine entry page of experimentation with organza and my first attempt at constructing how my final pieces will look!
I want to create 'ghosts' of objects by fusing organza around heirlooms then removing them, leaving the trace of the object and i would also like to work into these pieces with stitch,etc,etc....(the teacup photograph on the left hand side is my first attempt with just organza...)

FMP.....'Inheritance:The ghost of objects'
Its the beginning of Final Major Project...So I thought I would briefly say what I intend on doing...Im looking at inheritance, especially family inheritance.
The more I have researched into this topic, the more there is to inheritance than you initially think...It's not just the receiving of money when sometbody dies....I will be looking at genetic inheritance, the passing on of DNA, Also Matrilineal which is the passing on of property along the female line and finally subconscious inheritance, doing things your parents dom without realising...certain roles and traditions.
This topic is definitely one of interest.....Watch This Space!
